Jun Yasumoto is a French-Japanese designer based in Paris. After graduating from ENSCI-Les Ateliers in 2001, he began his career at Jasper Morrison Office for Design in 2002, contributing to major furniture, lighting, and product design projects. Independently, he has collaborated with international brands such as Colos, Arrmet, Memo, Bosc, Fucina, Ligne Roset, and Kohler Group, among others.
In 2023, he began working with Oliver Corporation (Japan) as Design Advisor for its seating division, where he developed the first chairs in the Zero Carbon Chair line (SCW-H835 and SCW-H834), made from rubberwood with a net-zero emissions approach.
His style blends Japanese minimalist purity with a European romantic sensibility, resulting in technically refined and visually calm pieces. His approach aims for design precision to remain invisible, allowing the object to feel relaxed and natural in use.
In 2025, he began his collaboration with Ofitres with the design of DOT, a compact, practical, and versatile piece. Its wood and steel structure is designed to adapt naturally to the rhythms of everyday life.
